Dr. Sharma completed a series of medical education and training which include Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) ¨C Indian Academy of Pediatrics. M Med Course (Pediatrics) National University of Singapore in 1996; Post Graduate in Pediatrics including two years of residency in Pediatrics and Neonatology, Ravindra Nath Tagore Medical College, Udaipur Rajasthan in India in 1990; MBBS at Ravindra Nath Tagore Medical College, Udaipur Rajasthan, India in 1987.

Dr. Sharma worked in India, Singapore and China for the past 20 years. She started as Medical Officer with RNT medical college associated hospital, India and worked in Singapore General Hospital and National University Hospital, Singapore. Dr. Sharma was a Consultant Pediatrician in India with Sethi Hospital, Artemis Associated Hospital, Gurgaon.

Coming to China in 2009, Dr. Sharma worked as Head of Pediatrics at St Michael Hospital and joined Shanghai East International Medical Center in Nov 2010.

Dr. Sharma specializes in preventive medicine diagnosis and treatment of diseases in infant children and adolescent well baby clinic, in-patient and out-patient treatment, emergency treatment.

Cardiac Surgeon

Dr. Qinchuan Li is a specialist who experts on surgical treatment of lung cancer, esophageal cancer, thoracic wall disease and mediastinum disease. He is also specialized in surgical and interventional therapy on valve replacement, congenital heart disease correction, coronary artery bypass graft, and large vascular disease.

Li graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University and furthered study in France and the United States. He is now a member of International Endovascular Therapy Professional Committee.

 
Dr. Vicky Xu (China)
GP, Senior Attending Physician, Internal Medicine and Cardiology

Dr. Vicky Xu has 14 years of experience in non-invasive Cardiology and 20 years of experience in Internal Medicine. She also works as a General Practitioner at SEIMC since 2006.

She received her medical degree from Jiao Tong University. After completing her residency she was employed as part of a Cardiology team for 5 years in Shanghai.

In 2002 Dr. Xu moved to Singapore where she had intensive clinical training in cardiology and the associated disciplines at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She was certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Dr. Xu joined the Shanghai East International Medical Center team in 2006. She takes care of cardiac emergencies, both inpatients and outpatients with cardiovascular disorders like heart attack, coronary atherosclerotic disease , heart failure, refractory hypertension, palpitation and arrhythmias, adult congenital heart disease, lipid disorder, Valvular heart disease, pregnancy-related cardiovascular disease and post-cardiac surgery care.

She provides consultations on tests reports and analysis of Exercise Stress Test, 24-hr Holter, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring and Echocardiogram.
She offers coronary angiography, pace maker implantment and therapeutic interventions in collaborations with the top heart centre in Shanghai East Hospital.

Dr. Vicky has good reputation in the expatriate communities, especially among people with cardiac diseases. She was awarded a Silver Medal by the Singapore Courage Fund for contribution during the SARS period as well as the Singapore National Silver Award 2005 for excellent service. Dr. Shaowei Zhuang is an expert specializing in percutaneous coronary intervention, arrhythmia radio-frequency ablation and pacemaker implantation. Dr. Bingguan Chen (China)

Dr. Chen joins Shanghai East International Medical Center from the USA from 2008 as a Chief of Surgery. Dr. Chen received his medical doctor and completed his five year surgical training in 1988, and then became an attending surgeon in Shanghai Changzheng Hospital affiliated to Second Military Medical University, China. He then received a second degree in medicine along with Board Certification in general surgery from Okayama University, Japan. He also completed a two year clinical fellow program in general surgery in Tokyo Metropolitan Komagume Hospital, Kawasaki Medical University Hospital and Okayama University Affiliated Hospital, Japan. From 1996 to 2000 Dr. Chen received post doctoral training in general surgery from the University of Michigan, USA. From 2000 to 2008 Dr. Chen was appointed as a faculty at Surgery Department of Yale Medical School and Boston University, USA.

Dr. Chen performs minimally invasive and traditional operations for hernia, breast, thyroid, cancer, bariatric (morbid obesity), gastrointestinal, and colorectal. Dr. ChenĄ¯s clinical emphasis is on the most successful surgery with the least pain, trauma, scarring, and recovery time. He focuses more on developing laparoscopic procedures for surgical patients.

Dr. Chen provides SEIMC with a general surgery specialty service on a full time basis. Dr. Chen is also co-appointed as a Professor at the Minimal Invasive Surgery Division at Tongji University Affiliated Shanghai East Hospital. His more than 25 year experiences in the surgical practice and research will provide a quality care and services for our customers in the SEIMC. Moreover, Dr. ChenĄ¯s strong professional network in the USA, Japan and China will also provide a better solution for complicated surgical problems.

Minimally Invasive Surgeon

Dr. Hai Hu is a surgeon expert on hepatobiliary surgery, especially diagnosis and treatment on cholelithiasis. He has operated around 25000 laparoscopic cholecystectomy cades and has adopted minimally invasive surgery to replace laparotomy. He is chief physician in the department of general surgery.

He earned his medical degree at Shanghai Second Medical University. He currently serves on the editorial board of Journal of Laparoscopic Surgery, Chinese Medical Journal (English Edition) and China Journal of Modern Medicine.
   
Dr. Desheng Wu (China)
Chief Orthopedic Surgeon, Professor

Dr. Desheng Wu is specialized in surgical treatment of cervical spondylosis and cervical instability, structure and function reconstruction for cervical spine trauma, surgical intervention for lumbar degenerative disease such as lumbar intervertebral disc prolapse and lumbar spine stenosis. Dr. Wu graduated from Second Military Medical University. He was visiting doctor of Twin Cities Spine Center and Rothman Institute Spine Center, Thomas Jefferson University. His research focuses on Basic and Clinical Application Research of Modified Anterior Cervical Interbody Fusions Methods and Clinical Application Research of Prosthetic Disc Nucleus Replacement in the Treatment of Low Back Pain. He is associate editor-in-chief of Contemporary Spinal Surgery.

   
Dr. Yubing Wang (China)
Sports Medicine Specialist

Dr. Yu Bin Wang has extensive clinical experience in severe trauma, bone trauma and gunshot wounds. He specializes in the field of microinvasive surgery (arthroscopic surgery) on joint injury, severe deformities after fracture and dislocation, artificial joint replacement and postoperative rehabilitation. He is a chief physician and the director of the department of sports medicine. He has received multiple research grants including National Science & Technology Award, Tongji University Clinical Achievement Award and National Orthopedics Outstanding Paper Award. He has owned three national utility model patents and has published 15 academic publications.

Wang graduated from Fourth Military Medical University and furthered study in the United States. He holds concurrent posts as Shanghai government procurement adviser and National Natural Science Fund assessor. He is a board member of Chinese Sports Medicine Association, Chinese Sports and Rehabilitation Association, Chinese Orthopedics Association and member of Shanghai Sports Medicine Association.

Dr. Hongping Cui is the director of Ophthalmology Department. He has an outstanding advantage in research of accessory lacrimal gland and conjunctiva epidermal stem cells. He has published more than 30 articles on the subject in national journals.

Cui earned his medical degree at Shanghai Medical University. Currently he is taking charge of research subjects on National Natural Science Foundation and Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. Cui is member of American Academy of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, member of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, member of Ophthalmology Branch of Chinese Medical Association.
