Dr Tang graduated from the School of Medicine of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and has been long engaged in clinical frontline work in surgery.
Dr Tang is specialized in diagnosis and treatment of hernia and abdominal wall surgical diseases. He is skilled in various types of external abdominal hernias such as inguinal hernia, incisional hernia, peristomal hernia, umbilical hernia, as well as surgical treatment of abdominal wall surgical diseases such as postpartum rectus abdominis separation and abdominal wall tumors.
Dr Tang is a standing committee member of the Science Popularization Branch of the China Association for the Promotion of Medicine; member of the External Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery Group of the Chinese Medical Association; member of the Chinese Branch of the International Endoscopic Hernia Society, and director of the Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery Association of the World Endoscopic Physicians Association.
Dr Tang has won the first prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. He jointly edited "Abdominal Hernia" and "Practical Abdominal Wall Surgery", led provincial-level scientific research projects, and participated in multiple national and municipal research projects. He has published dozens of papers in domestic and foreign journals.
Dr. Tang speaks Mandarin and English.
