Dr.Desheng Wu (China)

Dr. Desheng WU is a professor of orthopedic surgery at Tongji University School of Medicine. After graduation and completion of his residency in orthopedic surgery, he had his fellowship in spinal surgery at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Twin Cities Spine Center in US.
Dr. Wu specializes in the field of orthopedic spine surgery focusing on disorders of the cervical spine. He has an interest in innovative surgical techniques and image-guided technologies in the management of spinal disorders. His special expertise include: Cervical/Lumbar Deformity, Cervical Spondylosis, Lumbar Stenosis, Lumbar Disc Herniation, Spinal Tumor, Spinal Scoliosis, Spinal Infectious Disease. The procedures he is keen on are: Anterior Cervical Decompression and Fusion, Laminoplasty, Posterior Cervical Laminectomy and Fusion, Posterior Cervical Laminoforaminotomy, Posterior Lumbar decompression, Lumbar Microdiscectomy, Posterior Laminectomy and Fusion, Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion, Spinal Deformity Correction
Dr. Wu serves on the boards of several scholarly committees such as being the Deputy Head of Orthopedic Branch subgroups, Shanghai Medical Association; Board Member of Orthopedics Branch, Chinese Medical Association; Chairman of Spine Surgery Committee of Pudong New Area Medical Association, etc. He has also presented his research both nationally and internationally.
His research on the biomechanical evaluation of knee joint reconstruction has honored him scientific research funds from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Science and Technology, and Shanghai Municipal Sports Bureau. He has published academic papers in core medical journals, articles in SCI magazine, and participated in writing and editing of medical monographs.
